BIAO Biological (Botanical) Rodenticide is the product's trade name. Its pesticide designation: Tripterygium wilfordii extract (Triptolide Rodenticide). The product contains over 140 active compounds derived from Tripterygium wilfordii, with the most bioactive compound - triptolide - serving as both the namesake and reference standard for quality control.
Active Ingredients of "BIAO":
The product contains Tripterygium wilfordii extract (triptolide) obtained through advanced extraction technology from the natural plant. It is named after triptolide—the most bioactive compound—which also serves as the quality control reference standard. In addition to triptolide, the formulation contains over 140 other bioactive compounds.
The characteristics of "BIAO":
1、Being biologically derived (plant-based), biopesticides generally exhibit lower toxicity compared to conventional chemical pesticides.
2、They are highly selective and relatively safe for environmentally beneficial organisms such as birds and natural enemy insects.
3、Their active ingredients originate from natural sources, decompose and metabolize rapidly, and do not cause residual pollution.
4、They typically contain multiple active components with diverse target sites, making it difficult for pests to develop resistance.
5、As a crucial component of integrated pest management (IPM), the use of biopesticides can significantly reduce reliance on chemical pesticides, thereby minimizing environmental pollution.(Excerpted from 2012 China Pesticide Development Report, Chapter 4, pp. 58-60)
Key Advantages of "BIAO":
The product features excellent palatability, rapid action, easy application and competitive pricing, while being environmentally friendly and safe for humans, livestock and other beneficial organisms. It delivers comprehensive rodent control through multiple mechanisms including chronic lethality and anti-fertility effects on both male and female rodents (suitable for both emergency intervention and preventive measures). By effectively reducing rodent birth rates, population size and density, it achieves long-term pest control with outstanding cost-effectiveness.
Mode of Action of "BIAO":
Tripterygium wilfordii Extract (Triptolide): Exhibits dual characteristics of short-term chronic lethality and fertility inhibition in rodents. After ingestion by pests (typically within one week), it induces delayed mortality while simultaneously impairing reproductive functions in both male and female rats. The compound specifically inhibits testicular lactate dehydrogenase (LDH-L4) in male rodents, causing exfoliation and disintegration of spermatogenic cells in seminiferous tubules, severe degeneration of germinal epithelium, disordered development of spermatocytes, atrophy of seminiferous tubules, and drastic sperm reduction or complete azoospermia. In female rodents, it induces uterine wall thinning, ovarian atrophy, follicular regression, and ovulation suppression, ultimately leading to complete sterility and pregnancy termination in gravid females.
Product Performance (Applications):
This product is a natural botanical rodenticide derived from Tripterygium wilfordii extract. It is highly palatable to rodents and delivers dual-action effects combining short-term lethality and anti-fertility in both male and female target species (suitable for both emergency control and preventive management). Unlike conventional rodenticides, it neither triggers alarm avoidance (preventing compensatory breeding) nor induces resistance. By effectively reducing rodent populations and density, it achieves sustainable, long-term pest suppression.
Precautions:
1) Restrict poultry/livestock access to treated areas to prevent non-target ingestion. Grazing prohibition is required in grasslands for 15-20 days post-application. 2) Always wear gloves and masks during bait deployment; wash hands and exposed skin thoroughly afterward. Never clean application equipment in aquatic environments (rivers/ponds). 3) Pregnant/lactating women must avoid exposure. 4) Dispose of rodent carcasses and residual bait via incineration or deep burial. 5) Properly decontaminate used containers - prohibit reuse or indiscriminate disposal.
Poisoning First Aid:
In case of skin or eye contact, rinse immediately with plenty of clean water. If accidentally ingested by humans or animals, cease all food intake and seek immediate medical attention with the product label. Treat symptoms as "Tripterygium poisoning" with appropriate medical interventions. If subcutaneous hemorrhaging is observed, vitamin K1 administration is recommended to alleviate symptoms.
Storage and Transportation Methods:
Store in a cool, dry, and well-ventilated indoor area, avoiding humid conditions. Maintain at room temperature. During transportation, protect from moisture and rain. Keep out of reach of children and store under lock. Do not transport with food, seeds, beverages, grains, feed, or other consumable products.
